Land Rover Play Yard

Ethical fashion blogger | slowliving photographer | creative storytelling I embrace the notion of children learning during outdoor play and what better way to spark the imagination than a visit to a Land Rover yard. My partner Jason (Oak’s dad) has a massive passion for vintage vehicles so when he discovered a Land Rover dealer was importing Series 1 back to the UK from Australia it was too good an opportunity

Nostalgia Amongst The Llanbedrog Beach Huts

Ethical fashion blogger | slowliving photographer | creative storytelling Days out at the seaside, bucket and spade in hand, are a great British tradition. A spirit of nostalgia certainly seemed to overcome us when visiting the idyilic and sheltered Llanbedrog beach nestled on the Llŷn Peninsula. Brightly coloured National Trust owned beach huts, an essential part of the Great British seaside past, adorned the beach like a piece of commissioned

A Place of Refuge

We were planning on a walk up the Shropshire Hills but whilst we parked up the weather started to changed for the worse, the heavens opened and the rain came pouring down. Luckily we hadn’t set off walking so we took refuge inside the Bog Visitor Centre, a former Victorian school and one of the last remaining buildings from when the area was mined during the 18th and 19th Century.

A Honest Working Man

I love this time of year when the trees and hedges start to show us their beautiful newly fresh vibrant green leaves, after their resting winter period. Even better when you have a warm sunny evening, which makes the leaves have a translucent fluorescent glow turning everything in sight pretty. Oak decided he wanted to do a spot of gardening by pruning our hedgerows in the garden. We have taught

Vintage Holder B12 Tractor

Everybody can’t help but love a bit of old vintage and my partner Jason (Oak’s dad) is no exception. One of his many hobbies (an eccentric Brit to say the least) is collecting old rusty vintage unmostled horticulture tractors, like his 1959 Holder B12 vineyard tractor. Jason gave Oak a special treat last summer when he decided to get the old girl out and give her sachs diesel engine a

Gone To Earth

The air seemed miraculously still and the sky was crystal clear after storm Doris had battered Britain and threw everything it could at us the day before. It is so important to take advantage of sunny days like this in the half term, so off we went, an adventure to the Shropshire Hills was calling us loud and clear. Snowdrops, although a winter flower, always give a glimpse of spring

Winter Sunset on Titterstone Clee

I feel a big connection with all the beautiful Shropshire Hills but the one place Oak always likes to visit time and time again is the Titterstone Clee, the third highest in Shropshire at 533 metres (1,749 ft) above sea level . I can see why too, not just a hill to climb with outstanding views of flora and fauna but a place to certainly explore and spark the imagination of

A Sanctuary Garden in Winter

The evenings are starting to draw out so few extra hours to play in the afternoon. A favourite National Trust place we never tire of visiting any time of the year is Attingham park, which is just a stone throw down the road from us.  It has the most perfect wall garden, a sun trap for the low winter sun and the beautiful victorian greenhouses and bothy always add an

Memories of Summer down the Farm

Sometimes when the sun is not shining and the sky is full of grey it is a breath of fresh air to look back on memories made back in the summer. Not wrapped up in coats, hats, gloves and scarfs, just a carefree summer breeze floating in the air. One fond memory which always brings a smile to my face is visiting one of my good old friend’s old country

Free as an Eagle

Now the hussle and bussle of Christmas has past, it is just so nice to stand still, breathe and feel the wind gently blow on us again. This weekend we planned a moment just like that. A time for Oak to be free and soar high like a eagle. Was fun to watch Oak’s imagination run wild at Percy Throwers fish store, electric blues and neon pinks shining through translucent
